Divine demon GOD Aris • 1 year ago

shiloh's sword is for show

Indeed, he didn't lift a gosh dang finger.

Raka Bukhari • 1 year ago

Well Sandra threatened to kill Rubens if he does so.... Even if he move she can still kill him anyway

Very well... I guess I should let go of my standards of Anime MCs.

Fayt Leingod • 1 year ago

sandra would kill him if he does

Fayt Leingod • 1 year ago

sandra is pro hunter shiloh is just commoner, draw sword against her would be the end for him since sandra is a notorious criminal

Divine demon GOD Aris • 1 year ago

shiloh also seems to be sent by the goddess or something

Divine demon GOD Aris • 1 year ago

but he didnt even try to do anything like get help

Rohan Jow • 1 year ago

"dont move! get any closer and he's dead"
~ ends up dead anyway. Shiloh didn't move but just watched and listened as she speaks the words of death and moves for the kill. she makes her escape...and he moves.

Brilliant.

I dunno if this happened in the game as well. If it did, I would've one shot her with insta-kill cheat lmao.

But, in the anime I guess we're supposed to look at the world from a 3rd person perspective, but the MC is still powerless nonetheless xD.

Neo • 1 year ago

It does happen exactly as shown but instead, Sandra literally does teleportation magic as you attempt to chase her only for Boyd to show up and accuse YOU of being Sandra, the master disguiser, since he doesn't "know" you like how he knows Shiloh in the anime.

Also at this point, we don't exactly know what the Jumi are. Up to this point, unless you went a specific route to learn about the Jumi, we didn't know Elazul and Pearl are Jumi but they are hinted at being one. Ruben is probably the only confirmed Jumi up to this point. The story about Jumi shedding tears, the backstory about the Jumi and the Guardian/Knight deal isn't even told until later afaik.

These are just the intro stories that you encounter in the game. You haven't even started the proper Teardrop Crystal story arc.

Alecavalleri ♀️ • 1 year ago

So, basically, this anime takes some pieces here and there and tries to weave them all into a single storyline? No wondering why these three episodes felt so confusing

Whelp... Like I said, I know now that we're supposed to spectate the anime and not grow attachment towards any particular character. Unlike almost every other anime show where you expect the hero to come to everyone's rescue at the last second.

Annecy Change • 1 year ago

Shiloh just watching.

Divine demon GOD Aris • 1 year ago

dinner and a show

SSG SSJB • 1 year ago

This anime is so badly written, they're trying to hard to make it feel like a game and not enough of an adventure, it's literally like watching all the cutscenes of a game without actually playing the game its bland and uninteresting to say the least and also why is the MC so weak? Not the kind of hero I was expecting for this anime he is a pushover that's seems to get distracted by pretty girls and does nothing but waste time

I concur with all of your statements... The MC is indeed powerless.

arra1213 • 1 year ago

just waitin for the ed song to be released

Maverick • 1 year ago

You mean the "Song of Mana"? The original (from Annika Ljungberg) or the Japanese adaptation?

arra1213 • 1 year ago

already have the swedish og since early 2000 (big fan of the ps1 game)
waitin for the japanese one that used here in the anime

james trenton • 1 year ago

sick and tired of baby main characters. always on their knees crying and begging for compassion and equality. fight back.

I guess we're supposed to be neutral and look at the world from a 3rd person perspective, rather than the 1st person perspective we get from a game.

GreenTea Gal • 1 year ago

errybody gangsta until they have their core ripped out

Or the MC just watches you die.

GreenTea Gal • 1 year ago

yea why TF was he so useless there?? >.>

Whelp, I guess it taught us to not trust the MC to come to everyone's rescue.

Fayt Leingod • 1 year ago

lthese comments "mc is useless blah blah" your asking a simple errand boy to fight ah notorious criminal? lol

People have different expectations when they come to experience any type of media may it be novels, light ones, manga, anime, movies, etc.

However, we can sort of predict what we'll see judging from the title, cover, and the comments.

Everyone likely saw the comments of the show, finding out that this anime was adapted from a game, much less an RPG one.

Either from past experiences, people expect the show to be relatively "light-hearted," and shonen-esque.

So, when they see this... i.e. the MC being powerless and standing their being helpless... people's expectations were shattered.

So, as a way to release some of the steam... they commented about the powerlessness of the MC.

But, now we know better than to treat this story as just any other.

Sorry that I kept on rambling and probably overcomplicated what people feel after watching the episode. I'm not a psychologist after all.

Jerome W Bison • 1 year ago

But he fought an Troll/Ogre in the previous episode without hesitation.

He's far from a 'simple' errand boy doing that.

Fayt Leingod • 1 year ago

u forgot elazul and shiloh nearly died in that boss

Jerome W Bison • 1 year ago

Exactly my point, he made an effort without thinking of his own safety.

Had the scene played out differently, meaning if he made an attempt to stop her. And while fighting her, she still kills Ruben and gets away. Then we wouldn't be having this conversation. It would have shown that Sandra is a very competent, cunning and dangerous fighter.

He literally watched as she stabbed him, then moments later took his core. Yeah, she kicked him. But not as hard as that hit from the Troll and still got up and fought.

And Ruben literally 'Snapped' away in Shiloh's arms. Optics just doesn't look right when compared from the previous episode.

Astolfo-kun • 1 year ago

Rip

10/10 MC.

Undead-dragon • 1 year ago

Nothing can stop him he's all the way up

bari • 1 year ago

its been a week already my goodness

peanut-san • 1 year ago

I did not expect that I am going to ship both the MCs XD

Everyone mad about the MC clearly havent played the game. But i guess that would be everyones reaction after seeing this episode XD just give it a chance or maybe play the game. Its really good.

Fayt Leingod • 1 year ago

ya they dont know how brutal sandra is

Daniel Rivers • 1 year ago

"Don't move! Come any closer and I'll kill YOU!" @19:12 is what was translated. It would appear, unless there was a mistake in translation. That this "hero" was too afraid for his own life to do anything. But even if it was not YOU but HIM, this so called hero is worthless. I don't think I can watch a hero who just sits by while someone is murdered, the idiot put himself in that position even knowing she was willing to murder the walking lettuce, oh well. This isn't the type of "hero" I like watching.

Ooblagato • 1 year ago

I more direct translation is 'if you come any closer I'll kill'. Given the context knife pointed at the other guy, I'd assume him.

Divine demon GOD Aris • 1 year ago

she killed him anyways

How brilliant.

Daniel Rivers • 1 year ago

Thanks.

Mr. 投げ捨て • 1 year ago

She just said "korosu". Subjects and objects are vague in Japanese. With context I think she meant "Don't move or I'll kill *him*", but the unpaid krunkyroll intern staring at hundreds of disembodied strings of text in a notepad document just went ahead with "you"

Daniel Rivers • 1 year ago

Lol, thanks.

Maverick • 1 year ago

Gato Grottoes sure reminded me of the love triangle arc (which i didn't finish). But I do remember who the nuns referred to as "Flame of Hope". I didn't expect the female protagonist here, as well as have a name in here (Seraphina). I did play her in the game as mage before and she's quite decent, if I may say. In this adaptation, she's my "spirit-animal" now, we both love to eat edible bugs. Rubens in the game is quite different from here too. He's a bit optimistic vs here being a bit serious. Though, it's not very far from both game ang manga.

Azureink • 1 year ago

Can't wait until the MC can actually do anything of substance in a fight.

Sora Akumanjo • 1 year ago

not until he can forge his own adamantine full armor with the tempering exploit in.

Sora Akumanjo • 1 year ago

holy shit. legend of mana. and the jumi storyline no less? gotta love this. i played the questline once upon a time and its so heartbreaking

PicHor • 1 year ago

oh what the fuck. gotta stab the lady next!
